G’Day Everyone,

You might ask why is the National Secretary of the Royal Australian Regiment writing to your organisation, well here’s the rub. The ADF Kilcoy Diggers Volunteer Group is a mob that help out on selected race days, on the Kilcoy Racing Club Calendar, such as main events like; Diggers Cup, Veteran Cup, Kilcoy Cup, Xmas Cup and Australia Day. It started losing as mainly ex RARA veterans however has now morphed in to a mob with an ADF Flavour. Basically it is open to all retired veterans and those still serving including families. There are no membership list or fees. There is face book site, where all the exciting exchanges with photos and date/time of events takes place

On occasions when a donation is received from the Racing Club, it is then donated to likeminded not for profit organisation who support retired & front line veterans

When the mob attend the race meetings, some bring their caravans or camper trailer or swag and camp onsite at the showground track, others using the stars system, book the local motels and or Kilcoy Exchange Hotel

In closing, why send all around Australia well, you might be on holiday or doing a “grey nomad run,” and the main attraction is you don’t have to come along to every race meeting
