Then, hold ground in The Strand area for good observation of the RAAF Air Show. A good location for a beer and early lunch is the Seaview Hotel on The Strand and less than 50m from good observation of Air Show. We'll attempt to secure an area depending on the number of members who indicate they are attending this Event by hitting the Attend Button and completing the form.
After RAAF Air Show, hold Company / Platoon functions; or stay at Seaview; or independently go back to RSL for afternoon. There are quite a few coffee shops and restaurants within 150m of Seaview!
Stay at Seaview and have early dinner and get a good spot on The Strand for the Sky Fireworks.
Farewell Brunch at Townsville RSL. 1000h on Sunday 16th. Casual Dress. No RSVP required, very informal noting many have to get away home on Sunday.
Notes:
1 RAR is out field so we will have minimal representation from them.
A hotel near The Strand or pooling for vehicles is a good idea. For those that stick to Plan A and stay around The Strand all afternoon its all within walking distance if you get a good park before Memorial Service you stay until after the fireworks in the vicinity of the Seaview.
