Location. Coral Lines Lavarack Barracks Townville.

When. Commencing at 1500.

Dress. Neat casual with medals. Again, feel free to wear a jacket.

Food and drinks. After the presentation parade, the Battalion will provide a BBQ, and drinks may be purchased from the bar.

Registration closes 31 Mar 25. Each. Due to access requirements for Lavarack Barracks, each individual must register separately and provide vehicle details for the vehicle they will arrive in. If you are a member of the Association, Log Out so that the system allows each guest to be registered.

The 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment, has been awarded the prestigious Meritorious Unit Citation for its exceptional service during Operation SOLACE in Somalia in 1992-1993 as part of the United Task Force (UNITAF). The citation recognises the battalion's professionalism, courage, and dedication in a challenging and often hostile environment. During the operation, the 1st Battalion played a crucial role in restoring order and providing humanitarian assistance to the Somali people in the Bai Province. They faced numerous dangers, including armed militia, famine and disease outbreaks, and difficult living conditions. Despite these challenges, the battalion consistently demonstrated the highest standards of conduct and achieved their mission.
